Abarth supports the 2017 Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Team

For the third year running, Abarth will be Official Sponsor and Official Car Supplier of the Yamaha Factory Racing Team that will be competing in the 2017 FIM MotoGP World Championship. The scorpion badge will be sported on the front fairing of Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales' Yamaha YZR-M1

The 2017 Yamaha MotoGP Team, with Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales and their YZR-M1 bikes, was officially presented yesterday in Madrid ahead of the new racing season. The championship will start on March 26 in Losail, Qatar, and end on November 12 in Valencia, Spain, with the Valencian Community Motorcycle Grand Prix on the Ricardo Tormo race track. For the third year running, Abarth will be with the Japanese team on the race track as Official Sponsor and Official Car Supplier.

With this prestigious partnership, Abarth is confirmed as the automotive brand that is most capable of conveying the real essence of the race track, in addition to sharing the values of sportsmanship and desire to excel that both the brand with the Scorpion badge and the stars of the motorcycle racing scene share in their DNA. Not by chance, the collaboration between Abarth and Yamaha has spawned some thrilling cars, like the Abarth 595 "Yamaha Factory Racing" and the 695 biposto "Yamaha Factory Racing" Edition.

The Abarth and Yamaha partnership also brought forth an exclusive two-wheel creation: it is the Yamaha XSR900 Abarth, the first bike resulting from the collaboration between the two most dynamic brands in world motorsports. It shares the same grey livery with red finish as the "Tributo XSR", a concept car in the best Yamaha style, that fits many carbon fibre components to reassert the affinity of this four-wheel prototype with motorbikes, like the front fairing, the front bumper and the seat cover. The concept car and the Yamaha XSR900 Abarth also share Akrapovič ultralight exhaust developed in the racing world to boost the personality, sound and performance of both vehicles. The XSR logo is sported on the tailgate of the concept car.

In short, the partnership between Abarth and the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team continues this year under the sign of racing enthusiasm and everlasting dedication to overcome challenges.
The scorpion logo, byword of racing attitude and symbol of a one-of-a-kind heritage, will be sported on the front fairing of the YZR-M1 2017 in an exciting season with Valentino Rossi, the many-times champion of the speciality who ended 2016 in second place, and Maverick Viñales, who sealed the championship in fourth position.
